Are you tired of just treading sand? Do you spend too much time in the sun and you fancy a bit of movement? If you are one of those restless people, sports enthusiasts and nature, and want to do something different, we offer different routes that you can do from Benidorm, and where will tread a little mountain, as well as visiting landmarks and attractions.

They are called ecotourism routes, as they have “green” character, ie go through natural areas or undeveloped areas. The advise for people who like sport that involves movement, since in most cases, require done on foot. It’s a great way to go hiking while exploring and meeting the beautiful landscapes that surround our city.

There are many attractions nearby Benidorm. However, if you do not want to wander too far from the area, also have alternatives within the municipality.

– Crossing Sierra Frost. This is the mountain that borders the resort, at the foot of which, we also have the best beaches of the term. If the scales upward, reaching Cross viewpoint, you get a panoramic view of the stunning city, because it is at a high altitude. Comfortable climbing offers the hiker a beautiful picture of nature in the mountains while observing the sea below. Something really worth seeing.

Once you get to the cross, the itinerary continues indicated by a yellow and white arrows, with various ups and downs. After several km, is serving a pine for rest, and from which beautiful views of the island and the Peñas Mitjana of Arabi are obtained. It continues reaching highway Albir amending returns straight back to Benidorm. A journey of about 4 hours at a leisurely pace, and about 16 km, characterized mostly by its proximity to the cliffs, which will ensure an unforgettable memory of your trip.

– Faro del Albir. Very close to Benidorm, we find the small town of Alfaz del Pi, where the area of Albir. If we continue along the Camino de la Cantera, located in this area, we will come to a tunnel, which, after passing, will offer spectacular views of the Rock of Ifach. From here, you can visit Ochre Mine and the great cave “Mouth of the Whale”. Following from these, we arrive at Faro del Albir, where in addition to the tower itself, get stunning views across the cliff. An alternative that combines sea and mountain in the simplest manner and does not require complicated transfer much physical effort, which is ideal for those summer days where the heat dominates the day.

– Walking several towns. However, if you do not mind taking the car and flip through a few villages, there are several interesting itineraries that we suggest. Particularly noteworthy are those that combine coastal and nearby towns such as Calpe, Altea, Benissa and Moraira; but if what you want is a bit of stone, greenery and mountains, we suggest the inland route by: La Nucia, Polop, Callosa d’en Sarria, and Guadalest.

You can also make the journey between the same walk, but you will require many more hours, so we advise you approach by car to the various villages, and once there, explore the area and its landmarks, in cases like the last two people include pretty mountain.

You must leave the Avenida Benidorm Beniardà, and easily get to the Nucia, which highlights the traditional village trail and park Favara; once there, you can go to Polop where you can explore the Sierra de Aitana, and see the famous “sleeping lion” (a figure of your very special mountains) and raise or contemplate (the highest peak “Ponoch” by 1,181 m above sea level), then we suggest you visit the “Font dels Xorrets” with 221 pipes. Proceeds to Callosa d’en Sarria, where you can swim in the Fuentes del Algar, some small waterfalls forming small lakes ideal for swimming. Always receive many visitors due to its fresh and clear water, which is practically a small natural water park, making it a good choice for leisure and simultaneously enjoy nature and to beat the heat of the day. From here, and up a small harbor, Guadalest will take you to where you can not miss the climb to the Castle, from which one of the best views of the entire region are obtained. In the old town, situated high, you can also see the bell tower, the dungeon, the Moorish fortress and overlooking a beautiful marsh.
